Marc Berger performing with Rich DePaolo (Acoustic lead and slide guitar / Effects / Harmony Vocals).

Clouds that forever stampede the endless sky, shadows gliding over canyon walls – the West is a vast expanse of magic and mystery. American artists from John Ford to Frederick Remington to A.B. Guthrie have used film, canvas and the printed page to convey the essence of its unique landscape and mythology. Inspired by Marc’s lifelong love affair with the American West, RIDE, his current release, presents ten cinematic recordings capturing the vastness and romance of the West’s wide open spaces.

Marc has performed at Austin’s SXSW Music Festival, and the Kerrville and Falcon Ridge Folk Festivals, and has opened shows for Bob Dylan, and other national acts.  His song “The Last One”, was a staple of Richie Havens’ concerts for over twenty five years, and has been quoted in the NY Times and featured on The CBS Evening News.

“Gritty, cinematic tales of the real west…at times stripped bare, at other times dramatic and haunting…an experience like no other album I’ve heard this year.” – MAVERICK, U.K.

RIDE is ALBUM OF THE YEAR – “Without a doubt, the greatest discovery for us in this year; if not in our entire existence…makes the writers want to write and singers sing….an instant American Classic” - Nanobotrock.com

“A lot of what I was hoping to find in the new Springsteen album and didn’t, I instead have found in this album by Marc Berger”  - Spacecityrock.com

“It’s [RIDE] the breathtaking grandeur of the high desert and plateaus suspended between the pioneer days and ten minutes ago” - FAME (Folk & Acoustic Music Exchange)
