Salsa for Centaurs: A Salsa Social in the 9th Ward
Tickets: $10 cover at the door
~No Experience Necessary~No Partner Needed~
7:00 – Dance lesson
8:00 – Social Dance
Join us for a night of social dancing with half of the proceeds going directly to City Honors Crew.
You are cordially invited to be a part to be a part of the rich variety of fine art and athletics that are here–all with the warmth of a tight knit community fueled by joy and not the exclusive prices of some larger cities. Salsa is both an art and an athletic dance. Most importantly, it is an open activity where you can socialize and have fun with people from all walks of life. Just like salsa, the condiment, Buffalo salsa has many flavors and many ingredients that taste great separately but really take off when you mix them together! Whether you are a salsa addict or you are looking to learn… Or even if you just want to see what all the fuss is about, join us in dancing and giving to a worthy cause!
*City Honors Crew- Your Rowing Centaurs*
Rowing is often looked at as an elitist sport or even a past time for the rich. Not TRUE! The West Side Rowing Club, our boathouse, and City Honors Crew do not buy into that notion. The astonishing view from a rowing shell of mist rising from Canada, across the Niagara River and around the Peace Bridge are available to anyone with the strength and discipline to rise at 4:30 in the morning. A beautiful and extremely difficult sport, rowing is also extremely expensive. However, not only does City Honors Crew make it possible for public school children to row, it has a proven record of sending young athletes from Buffalo (many of whom would not otherwise have the means) to compete on the state, national, and international level.
City Honors Crew is a parent run non-profit organization that does not receive financial support from the Buffalo Public School District. It is entirely supported by parents, dedicated volunteer coaches, and fundraising.
